Bolts Bolts Bolts - Especially Ti Bolts

Bits and bolts can make a difference.. a lot of difference if you add it all up.

Titanium is a chemical element with the symbol Ti and atomic number 22. Sometimes called the "space age metal", it has a low density and is a strong, lustrous, corrosion-resistant transition metal with a silver color.

The two most useful properties of the metal form are corrosion resistance and the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any metal.

Titanium have ultimate tensile strength of about 63,000 psi (434 MPa), equal to that of common, low-grade steel alloys, but is 45% lighter. Titanium is 60% more dense than aluminium, but its twice as strong as the most commonly used aluminium alloy.

How do you knopw what is the bolt type and size ? Below is a chart to assist you.

The different heads available for a typical bike bolt setup.

Element Cycles now carry Ti Bolts and below is the specs/types that we have

A-M6x20mm for brake caliper

B-M6x30mm for head lock ,seat clamp

C-M5x20mm for stem,brake lever,fd

D-M5x8mm for rotor , bottle cage

The bolts available are all original coloured and are machine from TI Grade 5. What is grade 5 ?

Grade 5, also known as Ti6Al4V, Ti-6Al-4V or Ti 6-4, is the most commonly used alloy. It has a chemical composition of 6% aluminium, 4% vanadium, 0.25% (maximum) iron, 0.2% (maximum) oxygen, and the remainder titanium.[3] Grade 5 is used extensively in Aerospace, Medical, Marine, and Chemical Processing. It is significantly stronger than commercially pure titanium while having the same stiffness and thermal properties. This grade is an excellent combination of strength, corrosion resistance, weld and fabricability. In consequence, its uses are numerous such as for military aircraft or turbines. It is also used in surgical implants.

Deity Decoy LT Pedals - A Class Above the rest

The pedals that every rider needs to use is here. Its sleek, its light weight and above all its sweet looking.

Decoy LT specs
- Lightweight forged & machined magnesium body
- Super thin 17mm profile
- Du Bushing with double micro sealed bearing system
- CNC Red Anodized aluminium pins
- 8 Aluminium sockets per side for maximum grip
- Black spindles with Laser Graphics on end caps
- Powder coated black with laser etched logos
- Weight - 357 grams

Eventhough the deity Decoy 2.0 is one of the lightest contenders on the market, the goal with the deity Decoy LT pedal was to delivery you an even lighter package that will allow you to shed even more weight off of your bike. Weight in at 357 grams for the pair and featuring a forged and machined magnesium body, the deity Decoy LT pedals also utilizecnc machined aluminiun socket pins to reduce every gram possible. whether you are a downhill racer, dedicated dirt jump, freerider or prefer platforms for all-mtns and train riding.,.. the deity Decoy LT's are a high end pedal that is impossible to beat in terms of weight, strenth and price.

It also features a fully rebuildable internal system that spins on a double micro sealed bearing design and DU bushing., so keep your pedals running at peak performance is truly simple. Without requiring removal from your bike in order to service the pedal, it is as easy as removing the two fron aluminium caps, removing a nut, and sliding the body off the spindle. With a stepped heat treated cr-mo spindle as the foundation for every deity pedal, the simplicity and ease of serviceability will allow you to keep your pedals running at top form from one season to the next.

At 17mm at the thcikest point and 14mm at the thinnest, the deity Decoy LT pedals are an incredibly light weight, reliable and stron pedal that will inevitably become one of your favorite parts on your bike. By positioning your foot close to the central spindle rotation and axis, the benfits of a thinner profiled pedal have made them become the top option for any rider looking to run flats. From additional pedal clearance , lowered center of gravity, weight savings, feel, increased efficiency in your pedal stroke, and much more, a properly designed thin pedal will make you want to throw away the clinky pedals of the past without thinking twice. Remember, you only have a few contact points with your bike, so make them count!

Banshee Kiara Rage 2010

25th july 2010 was a blast ! Great day, great track and excellent riders !

The track was a 1.7km parkinson inducing ride ! :) If you want to test ya handling skills or rather if you can hold on to the handlebars.. this track would be it.

Straight forward and simple (understatement).. no gaps, and eye candy in this track.. everything was totally nature.. berms, rock gardens.. never ending and some pedalling. Afterall this is an MTB event.

Practice day (24th July 2010) was awesome.. the track was dry and tacky excellent for the minions that the team used. We hoped that this would continue but every local guy was like.. its gonna rain.. walked through the track checking up the possible lines and also assist riders with uplifts.

Thanks to Nissan for lending us the 5 Nissan Terrano's for the event. Greatly assisted the uplifts.

Race Day -
With minimal hiccup's the race start at 9.30 with race boy timing tagging all the bikes. Hardtails, Junior, Women , Masters, Open, Expert and Elite went down the ideal track .. in blistering speeds ! The fastest time recorded was by Popo from indonesia at 3 mins 33 secs. A good 14 seconds a head of the rival at 3mins 51 - Adam.

Everyone was wondering , if there is a possibility that popo can be beaten in the form that he is in. Everyone was talking.. riders and spectators.. if the finals going to be close or already won !

Well as expected, in the finals the clouds came in.. after the masters went down.. its started raining cats and dogs.. the timing went from super fast to and ok speed. However, that didnt deter the experts and elites from battling out for the champions prize !

Malaysia's Aim and Adam came in first and second respectively in the elite category.
