JB Downhill Challenge 2010 - Closing !
Hi Guys !
The whole event went on smoothly as planned. Minor hiccups here and there, but it was resolved. Minimum participant downtime. Weather was excellent & the track was dusty and AWESOME. Crowd turnout was great. Lining up the entire track like we have never seen before !
Some fascinating facts about the race
- 135 registered riders
- 28 winners,
- > 15 sponsors
- > 50 of lucky draw give away
- more than 20 photographers
- RTM & 8TV had video shots
- 1 min 38.089 sec fastest timing in the final race run
- 4 min11 sec slowest rider in the finals
- 12 is the number for the youngest rider
- 54 is the age for the most senior participant
- 3 categories won by Indonesian Riders, 1 By Malaysian (Sports) & 1 by Singaporean (Elite)
- 7 elite riders finished within 2 seconds in the finals *1.38.089 to 1.40.045 !
We will post up the race results by 1st Feb 2010 and try to get the race pics up by mid week for all to view.
Until we meet again in BC on March 2010 ! Cheers and Ride like the wind my DH Brothers :)

Go Pro In the House !
Thanks to Mr Khoo of Funsportz, we now have Go Pro camera for the event !

GoPro’s HD Helmet HERO is the world’s highest performance wearable 1080p HD video and still photo camera. Professional quality 1080p / 960p / 720p HD resolutions record at 30 and 60 frames per second (60 fps in 720p). Record up to 2.5 hours on a single charge and up to 9 hours total on a 32GB SD card.
The camera can also shoot automatic 5MP photos at 2/5/10/30 and 60 second intervals during your activity, hands free. Press the shutter button once at the start of your activity and record up to 2.5 hours of poster-print quality photos of you and your friends, living it up.
Included are mounts for attaching the camera to three helmets and two pieces of gear or vehicles, as well as a head strap allowing you to wear the camera like a headlamp. You can also pull this strap over helmets for easy camera sharing between friends. One of the above mentioned helmet mounts is a lace-through strap-mount designed for vented helmets.

Johor In Mourning
For the next seven days, we will be Mourning the lost of our Dear Regent, Sultan Iskandar ibni Almarhum Sultan Ismail. Tuanku was an avid fan of all kinds of sports.
He was the fourth ruler of Johor State and was laid to rest next to his father at the Bukit Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum here yesterday.The royal carriage bearing Sultan Iskandar’s body and drapped with his royal flag left the Istana Besar grounds at about 2pm for the 3km procession to the royal mausoleum.
Long live the new Regent.
Normal activities shall resume after Friday (29th Jan 2010).

Flags were flown at half-mast while thousands of people lined the streets to pay their last respects to the Ruler as the carriage was pulled by members of the Sultan’s Johor Military Force.
At the same time, the 41st Ceremonial Battery of Sungai Buloh Camp fired a 77-gun salute to mark Sultan Iskandar’s age before his death. Earlier, Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani proclaimed at the steps of the palace that Sultan Ibrahim was now the new Ruler of Johor.Long live the new Regent.
